Sales and the 'Talent Magnet'

A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

APV Sirius – a giant in the world of heat exchangers

Innovative APV techno-logies add flexibility and maintenance efficiency to deliver more cooling power at lower than ever reduced/lower capital investment costs

Very large flow applications in the chemical, petro-chemical, oil & gas, and power generating industries often require a series of heat exchangers operating in parallel in order to deliver the required cooling power.

The APV Sirius™ plate heat exchanger provides a solu-tion to capital investment and operating cost issues by delivering huge cooling power with a smaller foot-print, lower foundation costs, less piping, faster installation, and easier service and maintenance.

Huge power - small footprint

With the new, 13 foot tall APV Sirius™ plate heat exchanger, APV offers a heat exchanger with the largest practically installed heat transfer area and the highest cooling capacity on the market enabling very high flow rates in excess of 21,000 gallons per minute with minimum pressure loss. The plates provide a heat transfer area from 20.5 to 40.9 square feet, also the largest on the market, enabling more cooling power in fewer units and cutting the footprint to a minimum.

Flexible configurations

The APV Sirius™ features a highly compact design made possible by special connec-tions that enable reduced plate width compared to conven-tional plate designs. The plates are available in a flexible selection of sizes and patterns – in AISI316L for freshwater cooling, and in titanium for seawater cooling applications – and complying with interna-
tional standards such as ASME and PED. Plates are available in 0.5, 0.6 and 0.7 mm thick-nesses to accommodate higher than standard 150 psig design pressures and for design temperatures up to 3000F.

Service tools enhance efficiency and safety

Very large plate heat exchangers pose new challenges in terms of service and maintenance as well
as workplace safety.

The APV Sirius™ service con-cept includes service tools en-abling easy and safe dismantling of the large plates.

A specially designed hoist en-ables handling of tie bars and
nut spinners, providing service-ability all the way around the heat exchanger as well as maximum service efficiency and work safety.

Simple plate assembly
The APV Sirius™ feature APV’s innovative Bubble Lock plate locking system to ensure correct plate pack alignment, thus avoid-ing leaks and unnecessary open-ing and closing.

In addition to prolonging PHE and gasket lifetime, EasyClip gaskets – the most robust gasket on the market – do away with the need for glue or tape, thus reducing service down time and spare parts costs as well as the risk of plate damage.
